The Elite Roof treatment involves a professional grade biocide that is fast acting against biological growth on external hard surfaces.
Our solution is registered on the HSE COPR database and is licensed to use as a surface biocide after steam/low pressure cleaning and soft washing. It will keep microbial surface contaminants such as moss, algae, mould and lichen at bay with a further spray application recommended after 2-3 years.
When treating roofs with Biocide it is advised that steam/low pressure cleaning is carried out to remove as much moss and dirt as possible from the surface. There are some circumstances when it is suitable to instead scrape and then apply biocide treatment without using steam or water.
North facing and shaded roofs are a perfect breeding ground for algae, lichens and other biofilms. This is purely down to the fact that these areas don’t get the sun. In fact, most roof structures get contaminated with some sort of contamination due to the British climate and the elements.
Our solution has been formulated so it can be used to protect surfaces after steam/pressure cleaning or as a maintenance coat when the initial treatment is coming to the end of its cycle.
Future treatments are simple and can be applied by us from gutter level, safely, with the correct equipment, and without the need for scaffolding.
